Rseries = (Vin,min − Vz)/(Iload,max + Iz,min). Worst-case zener power uses Vin,max at no load; resistor power uses Vin,max.
Constant-zener-voltage estimate; ignores dynamic resistance and tolerance. Check both unloaded and loaded conditions against the selected diode curve.
